Cosy, popular eatery in Takapuna with relatively easy parking either in fron tor behind. Exciting food, perfect for sharing. We ordered a variety of dishes including the infamous beetroot flavoured pao, taro and pork filo parcels, a dry pork belly and prawn curry with a nice hit of chilli (served on a lettuce wedge with a sprinkling of crumbed roasted prawn shells), fish of the day and Wagu steak for mains and a very tasty Turon dessert (a sweet caramel banana pastry roll that's deepfried and served with coconut icecream and fruit gels). Philippine food at it's best!

First, and certainly not last, visit to Nanam. A shared starter of Kahawai Spring Rolls with a Ginger Sauce was divine, my main of Schnapper was superb and Ross' meal of Wagu Beef was the best he had ever tasted. Recommend Nanan to anyone wanting fabulous, fresh and beautifully presented food

Nanam is absolutely devine!
Not the first time I have eaten there and definitely won't be the last!
I would compare the food to very upmarket street food and we actually just shared a few of the starter plates. Every single plate did not disappoint and were so full of flavour.
The service was amazing also as we were catching up with old friends we asked the food to come out one small plate at a time and they were very accommodating.
Will 100% be going back and have recommended this place to everyone :)

I highly recommend this restaurant. Really good food from starters to mains to desserts! Appreciate how the chefs added new flavours to our favourite Filipino dishes. Service was great too, our servers last night were friendly and efficient. Thanks, Nanam and First Table!

We had a fantastic dinner last night. It was my second time there. We had the spicy squid and taco pao for starters. Both were full of flavour- the taco pao becoming a reliable fave! We had the Angus beef and Sinigang chicken for mains. It was a good amount of food and went really well with the sides- coconutty rice and green beans with with mushroom (yes even the sides were worth a mention). So yum! We had to rush off this time but otherwise would’ve stayed for dessert. Though we were full and satisfied as it was. Service was friendly, helpful with recommendations and with a great smile. Thanks for a nice, short evening out amidst a dreary week.

Was a wonderful evening highlighted by great food and staff. I highly recommend the thin beef sausage wrapping a warm tortilla as a starter, delicious. Pork belly was the real stand out main but beef cheeks were beautiful fall apart tender (no knife required). Finished with ovaltine was fab, highly recommend this as well, lots of flavors and textures going on in there made it a great end to delicious meal. We will be back!

We've been going to Nanam since there were still located in Royal Oak. The food doesn't look traditionally Filipino, but oh my, the taste is spot on!!! I'm proud to be Filipino and I am proud of Nanam!

It was a wonderful night. Good food-from starter to main and dessert, we enjoyed everything. The staff made us feel important despite a busy night for them as they made sure that they come and check our table just in case we need anything. THANK YOU SO MUCH NANAM TEAM.

The service and atmosphere were excellent at Nanam, but the real standout was the food. Reasonably priced for such a high-quality dining experience. The tapas menu astounded with the Taco Pao (Nanam's signature dish) and sweet and sour Brussel sprouts. We had the braised beef cheek and pork belly mains. The beef cheek was exquisitely cooked, so soft it fell off the fork! The pork belly had a thin, excellent level of crackling and the fat was rendered very well. Every dish we had was especially wonderful for the use of texture in each bite.

Am itching to go back already!

We went there with my 2 young kids. As soon as we got there we were greeted warmly and offered water. We were offered baby seats even before we asked. The restaurant had a nice ambiance. They also offered the kids menu which we didnt know they had. They checked if we want the kids food to be served ahead which was great as they get very impatient when hungry. The other food came after about 20minutes. Everything was delicious. We thought at first the there might not be enough to fill us up but surprisingly it was the right amount. We ordered pork skewers, chicharon, eggplant, kumara for appetisers. They were all very tasty. For the mains we got a variety. Kare kare, duck, caldereta, angus beef. I recommend the angus beef inasal. My partner really enjoyed it. For dessert we tried the halohalo and bibingka. The combination of everything was amazing. Thank you for a great experience.

This place was mind-blowing amazing! We couldn't fault them on anything. The food was superb, all the flavours are combined perfectly. To start we had the Lamb croquettas and grilled pork belly, both very enjoyable. For mains we had the beef cheeks that just melted in the mouth, it came covered with a lettuce leaf and it was like unwrapping a gift to reveal what was underneath, presentation was very nice. Also ordered the Angus rib eye which was very moist and tasty. For dessert we had the Halo-halo which was such a refreshing dessert that wasn't too heavy for our already full and very satisfied bellies. The service was very attentive, personable and and friendly (Dana was our helpful and lovely waitress). We went with open expectations and left as huge fans, definitely returning to this place :)

My friend and I had a fantastic dinner experience at Nanam. We were new to Filipino food so didn’t know what to expect. We loved the decor, the relaxed friendliness.
We ordered taco pao, eggplant and kawahai for entrees. We got the tuna and duck mains along with rice and papaya salad. We had the pandan panna cotta and sago desserts.
It was amazing. We enjoyed all the food. It was the kind of food where it tasted familiar yet combinations were so clever and different. We savoured every bite!
We hope to come back to try more things on the menu.
The service was good too- they didn’t rush us and were very responsive to requests.
We had a great evening catching up with awesome food. Thank you.

Honestly some of the best food I’ve ever had. I could not fault anything. (The Taco Pao is a MUST!) Friendly staff who make you feel at home and comfortable, service was timely and atmosphere relaxing. Just an amazing night had by everyone. Thank you Nanam we will absolutely be back!!

Went for my son's birthday & had a lovely meal. Tried four entrees - scallops, tuna, prawns & pork. Each one was scrumptious. The flavours were fresh, unique & so very very tasty. For mains had fish, pork belly, Angus beef. Each one had another array of flavours. Simple side dishes like beans weren't just beans they came with delicious dark mushrooms that added a whole new dimension. The same for the broccoli salad. The dessert was a banana Sundae - a pastry wrapped banana mousse type filling. A little sweet for some but tasty for sweet tooth people. The only thing I didn't like was the powdery chocolate crumble underneath. It made for a dry combination. The other dessert a Halo Halo was an interesting combination of fruits, mousses & other things. A in all the service was outstanding, the atmosphere pleasant with tables not squashed too close & we rated the food as the best meal out we've had in a long time.

Superb!! what a great menu, every bite a taste adventure. Well catered for a vegetarian and desserts also an explosion of new taste sensations. Nicely presented by attentive staff.

4 of us shared a dozen Tapas dishes. A wonderful medley of flavours, colours, textures, tastes. Everything about the experience was a pleasure. We were never rushed and the information from staff on each dish was both helpful and lived up to their descriptions. Definitely deserves a 2nd, 3rd and 4th visit to work our way through the whole menu.

Went to Namam for the first time to celebrate an anniversary with my partner. We were greeted by the most friendly man, who was attentive throughout our time dining. We opted to share all of the food, choosing two tapas to start - the “smoked eggplant” - which was a purée of eggplant atop a rice cracker, garnished with cherry tomato and dill. These were so tasty and the perfect size. We also got the “crispy cassava” - which were cheesy and crunchy, similar to a polenta chip. We then shared the main of “fish of the day”, which was snapper. This was cooked perfectly, and the muscavado glaze was the perfect balance. Even the sautéed vegetables underneath were packed with flavour. We also shared the side of “papaya salad”, this was balanced well, fresh and packed a punch. We got two desserts - the “halo halo”, a spectacular delight as it came to us in a basin of liquid nitrogen. The flavours of ube, pandan and the berry sorbet, as well as meringue made this a combination of both kiwi and filipino flavours. We also shared the “Turon”, a banana parfait in filo casing, paired with coconut ice cream and jackfruit gel. This was my favourite dish of the night, creamy but not sickly, even the crumb on the plate was a delightful edition and gave some crunch. Overall, a great experience with exceptional food, we will definitely be returning.

Had an absolutely amazing first time dining experience at Nanam. The person who served us last night was exceptional and one of the most genuinely friendly people I’ve encountered in hospitality. The food itself was divine - we had an array of tapas, two mains and split a dessert. The flavours were incredible and I cannot recommend the tuna or halo halo enough. Highly recommend Nanam and will hopefully be back soon!

Food was amazing, everyone loved their order especially the pork belly and would definitely go back again. They probably didn't have enough staff scheduled on the early shift though as it got quite busy and it meant that they weren't as attentive as they could of been, still friendly staff though so no problem recommending them :)

Visited as a couple for the first time, we were not disappointed. Food was so good, especially enjoyed the Adobo Croquettes & Binalot vegetables wrapped in banana leaf. The Salsa music, weaved baskets, chair runners & surrounding woodwork created a joyful ambience. A bit on the pricey side but food definitely made with love, go with more than two of you to make it more cost effective, meals definitely made to share.
