Cuisine: Cafe, New Zealand, Tapas/Small Plates
Price Point: Mains from $15 - $25

A swinging spot for perfectly executed modern Kiwi food and chilled out live music.

With its clean, contemporary decor and warm staff, it’s versatile and laidback, transforming easily from cool cafe by day to intimate bar and restaurant that’s open ‘til late.

By day, tuck in to open sandwiches, juicy burgers, comforting pasta and a flavour-filled chicken pide with cashew nut pesto.

After dark, a sharing plate format makes this one ideal for groups. Dishes have an international bent: nachos sit alongside mushroom gyoza, sticky chicken wings and succulent prawns served Spanish style, sizzling in garlicky olive oil.

The drinks list also has a boutique feel, with a small but perfectly formed selection of local craft beers and wine by small producers.

Expect a polished experience with a highly personal touch at Rombus!

It was my second time at Rombus and I loved it as much as the first time I went!! Our meals were (again!) delicious and as for the chocolate brownie. Wow. melt in mouth delicious. I went with a friend who, like me, is a seasoned traveller and she thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambience is great and looking out the window at the trees I felt, for a moment, that I was back in Paris. Try it, you will be sure to enjoy this lovely cafe.

What a lovely lunch I had at Rombus. Mushrooms on toast with a side of bacon. The last time I had such delicious mushrooms was in Paris in 1985 and I have had them many times since. Sitting in Rombus, looking out the window, eating delicious food and drinking wonderful coffee served by an articulate and well mannered french girlI felt like I had stepped back in time. It was my first visit to Rombus and I will certainly be returning. Highly recommend this calm and tranquil restaurant.

The most delicious tapas! Favourite was the chicken, tasty and so flavoursome! Couldn’t get enough. Beef and prawns were scrumptious too! Friendly service and truly unique and new tastes here! Will be back for everything else on the menu

The menu isn't large so your choices are limited but the quality is really good.
We all really enjoyed the dinner.

3 of 4 meals were excellent. The pasta was small and uninteresting.
We weren't in a rush, and for that I am very glad. We ordered at 1:05, got drinks at 1:20 (never got the water) first two meals at 1:45 and other two at 2pm. It was not busy, no idea why the delay.
But the food was very nice (except the pasta) and the pricing is fair - especially at 50% off!

Great tasty food. Menu is not huge but everything we ordered we enjoyed. Would be nice to see some more vegie options on the menu like some mixed vegies or a salad. Would be a nice accompaniment to the other dishes.
