With a magnificent Head Chef at the helm, Haru No Yume is serving exquisite Japanese plates to the trendy restaurant-goers in Auckland.

It's a Zen hideaway from the buzz of Auckland. Step inside and you are greeted by a slick, symmetrical dining area with trendy wooden panelling, green creepers and Japanese lanterns. Sake bottles also line the shelves; a hint to buy a full bottle perhaps...?

From freshly made sashimi to gyoza and ramen, this eatery serves the very best of Japanese cuisine. In the sushi section there's the classic nigiri as well as beef tataki and tempura oyster. And the California rolls? Keep them rolling we say!

There are also delectable sharing plates like a soft shell crab, agedashi tofu and tempura prawn which is always a crowd-pleaser. If sharing isn't for you, why not order a warming bowl of ramen! And a bottle of Sake whilst you're at it.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Haru No Yume. Friendly staff, the food was excellent and tasty. We highly recommended this place to people. Nice and relaxing environment. The Ora King salmon yaki was well cooked and the Karaage chicken was worth to try. Because one of us couldnot eat raw food, we did not get a chance to try their fresh Sashimi or sushi, we will definitely come back again , possible try their dinner buffet. Many thanks.

Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Auckland. Atmosphere is sophisticated without being pretentious, with wonderful service, and amazing food. For starters, the edamame was nicely salted, gyoza had a tasty toasty wrapper, and the tempura prawns were absolutely beautiful with a dipping sauce I was nearly ready to pick up and drink, it was so good. The super ramen lived up to it’s moniker, with a delicious creamy, buttery broth and charsu so soft and tender it practically melted in your mouth, and even the egg was just the right texture. We also had a lovely chicken katsu and sushi nigiri plate that were both beautifully presented. To top it all off, we finished with the black sesame ice cream and an astonishingly satisfying mr softcone.

We dined here with our family visiting from Sydney who've just been to Osaka Japan and tried lots of authentic Japanese dishes there. We took them here to know how Haru No Yume food compares. Glad it did not disappoint, they were very pleased with the quality and taste of the food we ordered. And of course, the very friendly service.

Had an amazing dinner at Haru No Yume. The sashimi is done of the best I have eaten. So fresh. Outstanding. Ordered the tofu, soft shell crab, karagge chicken, gyoza and skinny fries. Love this restaurant for several reasons.
It is great if you're going for a date or to catch up with a group of friends. The location is perfect for those coming from town, especially those who have work or uni till 17:30.
The restaurant itself is cozy and warm - perfect for the cold weather we're currently experiencing in Auckland.
Lastly, raw dishes are fresh and cooked dishes are very flavourful. I would recommend the sashimi platter, the ramen and the chicken wings - we loved them.
The service is friendly and accomodating. We did not realise how long we were there for, but they kindly notified us that they were "closing in 10 minutes".
Thank you for the wonderful night Haru No Yume!

The ramen was great for warming up this winter. Definitely recommend their plum wine! Service was excellent and the restaurant felt very classy without feeling too formal. A lovely time for our anniversary

Had the best experience. The fresh sashimi was excellent, every dish we picked was delicious, we'll have to come back to try the tartare which was recommended by the staff but we already had our sights set on other dishes. Unfortunately we didn't get to try out the range of sake as we were all doing Dry July. The atmosphere was really good even for a Tuesday night. Staff were super attentive and we had a really nice night catching up with good friends over a great service and meal. Thank you!

We were shown to our table the minute we got there. Food was really delicious, restaurant has a great atmosphere, and the staff? So really friendly and attentive... almost feel like we were back in Japan! We tried a range of dishes... salmon and eel sushi rolls, skinny chips, wafu steak, Ora king salmon and chicken katsu... every single dish was really tasty. We love the salmon roll so much that we ordered another one! We’ll be back for sure.

My friend and I try to go out for dinner together once a month as an opportunity to catch up and connect with each other. Last night, our meal at Haru No Yume was the perfect way not only to spend our time together but also to end the day. The food was delicious, fresh and filling and the service was exceptional. We got the sashimi plate (which came out on a beautifully presented bed of ice) , karaage chicken and agedashi tofu and each dish was as yummy as the next. I loved the vibe of the restaurant as well! You could look inside, eat the food and pretend you were in Japan. I would definitely go back and recommend it to all my friends.

It’s great value, the steak was amazing so were the other dishes

Just one thing, the sushi roll was supposed to come in with 8pcs but my Eel sushi roll come in only 6 pcs, I didn’t ask but not sure whether this is because of the deal or just a mistake

Otherwise, all very good, excellent experience

We were greeted warmly and attended to well throughout our meal. Lovely ambience. The food was a little touch and go, the karaage chicken and wafu steak were delicious, and the agedashi tofu and edamame safe and adequate. We were a little disappointed with our experience of the sashimi (cut) and ramen (reminiscent of instant noodles), which could have been better and enticed us to return. Overall a positive experience.

We have been served by the waitress right after we entered into the restaurant. They were a few tables of customers already.

We have ordered the small sashimi platter, yukkae raw beef, prawn tempura, soft shell crab, chicken wings, kaarage chicken, salmon sushi roll, eel sushi roll and a bottle of hot house sake.

The drink was served quickly. However the price of the drinks are generally 20% - 30% more expensive than other Japanese restaurants. The 300ml hot sake was $21 and taste was quite blend.

In terms of the food, the sashimi (Salmon, tuna and snapper maybe) was OK, salmon wasn't super fresh. The raw beef yukkae made up the points. It was fresh and the taste was bang on. The karaage chicken was a little bit dry. Chicken wings were good, although it was a little bit on the sweet side. Soft shell crab was mediocre as there was some juice from the crab left on the plate. The eel sushi roll has only 6 pieces (the menu said 8 pieces) and some pieces of eel had a tiny bones in it.

The best dish that we had was the salmon sushi roll. 8 big pieces with grilled salmon rolled on top of the salmon sushi roll.

The worst dish was the prawn tempura. While it was hot and straight out from the kitchen, they probably used the cooked prawn and the batter was not the traditional tempura batter that you will found in other Japanese restaurants. The batter was not crunchy (like the takeaways) and the prawn was curly. The traditional prawn tempura should be straight.

Service was good and waitresses were quite attentive.

Overall a pleasant meal but probably would only come back for the salmon sushi roll and the raw beef only.

Had to eat on my own as my companions were stuck in the horrible Auckland traffic, very appreciative of the cosy, 'private' table allocated to me behind the discreet divider. My first time to eat raw scampi, loved the melt in the mouth taste. The tempura prawns were succulent and tasty. The salad was delicate, sprinkled with chopped up tofu and pickles, really delicious. Loved the texture of the Japanese rice.
My husband arrived late. He ordered a takeaway selection of sushi which he described as fresh, melt in the mouth. Overall a great experience, totally enjoyable.
