I had famouse High tea here sometime which was very good, but having meal was first time. Visited 4 of us.

Asian waiter was very polite. I had Tuna Tataki as entry which was lovely. My family had Curry puffs which was tasty. I had Market fish (Hapuka) as main. Hapuka was thick fish meat, but they cooked very moist perfectly! I don’t know how they can cook like this, the best fish dish for me. I was very happy. The skin was crispy. My family had steak well done and medium. Both cooked exactly we requested.

We had deserts looks very pretty. Flat white was also very good. We enjoyed relax Sunday dinner at KOA. We will back definitely. Thank you!

I had the eye fillet steak and to be honest it was one of the nicest steaks I've had. Melt in your mouth tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. Thank you KOA.

Excellent food, highly recommend the mushroom ravioli- was delicious. Lamb came with just one side so perhaps advise to order 2 if you're hungry! Very happy with starters, mains and desserts and definitely worth a First table booking!

After a big day, we (mum, dad and our 7 and 6 year old) found the sanctuary of KOA just what we needed. The wait service were very attentive, and accommodating to our tired children. We ordered the pork belly entree which was the dish of the day in our mind.. lovely sweetness of the pumpkin with the salty tender pork was perfect. I had the market fish and my husband had the lamb with red wine Jus, again both cooked just right with lovely depth of flavour in the sauces. It may seem surprising that hotel dining would be a pick for young families but we thoroughly enjoyed it !

The Food was great. The service was also really good.
It's a hotel's restaurant. Good to celebrate special occasions.

We were not aware that this restaurant is actually in a Hotel, so the ambience was not was not great also the food was expensive and average. Cauliflower cheese is meant to have a thick cheese sauce not just milk with cauliflower. Also it would have been better to have sides that included a mix of vegetables not just one large portion.

Well it feels like you’re sat in a noisy canteen rather than a restaurant. The food was substandard. The cauliflower cheese was actually inedible. When we told the waiter he just said sorry.

The flutes fir the drinks were plastic. Who has plastic in a restaurant.

It’s a never again from me

I think we were the only diners last night which seems a shame as the food was very good , generous entree sizes and the steak was perfectly cooked . The cheesecake was a little underwhelming . The dining room tables and chairs are school cafeteria feeling and I think better dressed and more comfortable would help the ambience

The waiter who received us was a bit confused with the number of people on my reservation. Anyway, she accepted us 3.

There's a lack of staff serving many seats in the restaurant. Food service was within 20 minutes, which was acceptable for me. But, food presentation was meh. It has gone bad I should say. I ordered steak which was presented in a big plate. The sauce and the side dish on a separate plate. Food was pretty average.

I would not go back anymore.

We ate early at Koa prior to an event at the Aotea Centre. The restaurant is well situated within 10 minute walk of the Town Hall, Aotea Centre and Civic Theatre. The staff were efficient and our the food well presented. Particularly recommend the Orange Polenta Cake on the dessert menu. We had fish and the pasta options which were good for a light meal. If you're really hungry the grill would be a better option.
Koa opens onto a hotel bar with a sports TV, and music playing and next to an interactive Japanese restaurant, . It was too noisy for our taste, but would suit those who like a busy vibe, and enjoy people watching.

Excellent service but the food was sub par. The scallops were nice but the tuna on the fresh shashimi was barely defrosted. Garlic bread was over priced for 2 small pieces. Mussels were bang average. My eye fillet came out and the temperature was all wrong, there was a funny taste from the meat and it looked off. Replaced it for a sirloin and it wasn’t any better so sent that back too. The woman looking after us offered us a dessert which was a nice gesture but we just left it. Good mash potatoes and mushroom sauce though.

Nice atmosphere, great food and service however we felt the food portions were on the small side.

I was a little disappointed at KOA, the restaurant is next to the main bar and there is a lot of noise so you can hardly have a conversation.
The food I found was average, the caulflour and cheese had no taste and was very bland. The pork belly was disappointing, however the steak was cooked well.
Overall I would not dine there again.

Wouldn't normally go to a hotel for a meal but because of first table we chose KOA. Steaks were perfect , the service friendly and efficient. The live music in the background was lovely. Apart from me roadworks outside excess was easy from the downtown Park car park. Would definitely go again.

Great food and services. But with limit and non-appealing dessert selection.

I had a great time, came to this restaurant as a group of 4, unfortunately some of the dishes we ordered were small so we had to get a little more food. The Salmon is quite small, so be aware when you order! Ribs were great, good portion size too.

Food and service both wonderful. Can be a bit loud as right in the foyer area and not a closed restaurant, however we enjoyed the lively ambiance with a live band playing. Very attentive friendly service and food was fresh and delicious.

It was my first year anniversary with my girlfriend.I just finished my studies and graduated I just started working. Saved up some money for this special occasion. However, when it comes to doing things for your partner you always want to give more than you can. Saw first table in google through searching dinner deals in Auckland. We had a 5/5 experience eating lovely food at KOA. The singer was amazing too!! Thank you for creating this webpage will definitely use this again at least once a month to visit fine dining restaurants around Auckland.

Delicious meal - sashimi was perfectly cut and market day fish cooked in an interesting way - recommend

We shared the Mussels which had a delicious balanced flavour to them, I was very impressed.
Followed by the Salmon steak and handmade portobello mushroom ravioli both of which were very well balanced in flavour and presentation.
Dessert was Chocolate fondant and cheesecake both of which again had a perfect blend of flavour and sweetness.

Staff service was impeccable! Really enjoyed the environment as well.
