Chef Christophe Jacqument has landed in Herne Bay with a new kitchen that blends ancient techniques with artisan products. Fine wine plays a central role in the Squisito dining experience, as you can probably tell by the shelves upon shelves of gleaming bottles that line the modern dining room. The restaurant itself puts its own colourful spin on the traditional trattoria whilst still giving diners the opportunity to sample the Italian lifestyle that is all about taking things slow and never saying 'no' to another glass of the good stuff.

As for the food, woodfired pizzas have become the thing they're best known for. And for good reason; cooked to crispy perfection over manuka wood, there's no beating the smoky undertones that their Siciliana, Gamberi, Diavola and Pollo have. Yes, you might have had these toppings before, but you've never experienced them like this. Aside from that, they also have gorgeous pasta dishes that host market fish, roast duck, lamb shoulder ragu and seasonal vegetables.

And when in Italy, you also can't say 'no' to a touch of dolci. With just three to choose from, none of which are too heavy, there's no getting around the fact that you're going to finish it all off with a chocolate orange mousse. How much room do you really need?
