Nestled in Wairarapa’s beautiful countryside, on the banks of the Ruamahanga River, The Gladstone Inn has been a local watering hole and eatery since 1871.
Locally known as “The Gladdy”, this historic inn offers a menu inspired by the Kiwi countryside, using fresh ingredients from their own garden, as well as local suppliers. Enjoy roaring fires in winter, or relax in their outdoor bar and verandah in the summer. With a woodfired pizza oven, The Gladstone Inn has fast become popular for its authentic pizzas, with a mix of classic toppings (think Hawaiian and vegetarian), plus a few creative twists (pear and walnut anyone?) Their evening menu is packed with choice as well, from crispy pork belly to tiramisu, there really is something for everyone.
Plus, if you’ve little ones with you, there are two menus for kids to choose from (including smaller pizzas). There is also a wide range of local ales, Heineken and craft beers on tap, and a wine list showcasing the best of the surrounding vineyards. If you’re in need of a relaxing dining experience, with a fine beverage in hand, make sure to give The Gladstone Inn a visit!
