'Mora' means to linger or pause in Latin. Located off the shores of Lake Hayes, take a beat and feel the stress tumble away on their sunny patio or in their homey, rustic dining room. Perfect for larger groups, the interior is airy and uncluttered, pairing solid oak tables with slick white walls and modern art. It's refreshing to say the least. Outside, pretty picket fences create the form of their meticulous garden where many hours can be spent supping a Central Otago wine or your first coffee of the day.

The menu heralds honest, comforting food whilst showcasing the best local produce at the same time. Drop by for breakfast where you'll eat like a king! Forget your standard eggs on toast - Mora is stepping it up a gear with slow-cooked beef shin with poached eggs and agra rosti, apple cider sausages paired with the sweet smokiness of maple bacon and crispy ciabatta, and smoked salmon hash cakes with avocado and herb crème fraiche. Alternatively, you can tickle your sweet tooth with the most decadent French toast that comes with lashings of caramelised banana gel and passionfruit mascarpone.

Lunch is another culinary triumph with shared plates that feed the body and soul. From crispy duck with a spiced orange jus to wood-fired Mount Cook salmon and tender beef cheeks, Mora invests time and effort in a variety of cooking methods that bring out the best in each ingredient.
