One of Queenstown’s premier Winery Restaurants, located just out of Arrowtown, Akarua Wines & Kitchen by Artisan is proud to offer an outstanding wine and food experience.

Akarua is internationally recognised as one of New Zealand’s finest wineries, having won multiple awards world-wide. Akarua joined forces with Artisan Catering, a locally recognised company run by John and Debbie Pickens to create a winning combination pairing stunning Akarua wines with Artisan flare using local and artisanal produce.

Executive Chef John Pickens & the team of chefs focus on seasonal and sustainable ingredients, sourced from local growers and South Island farmers. The kitchen philosophy is to make everything from scratch, from the slow-cooked braised beef pie, to the locally sourced seafood that goes into their famous seafood chowder.

Their lunch menu is designed to be social, so you can share plates like the Wakanui beef cheeks, or the Central Otago merino lamb oyster shoulder. Ask one of the knowledgeable staff to recommend a perfect wine pairing, and learn a little about the history of the vineyard.

Akarua has something for everyone, including a sandpit & playhouse to keep the kids entertained. Located within a beautiful cottage and gardens, just off Arrowtown-Lake Hayes Road, Akarua has created a dining experience second to none.

Great and friendly service always! And food and coffee are seriously to die for. And I really enjoy all the new Alice in Wonderland pictures all over their walls :) definitely one of my fave brekkie spots in town!

4 ladies for breakfast and we all loved the way in which the food was presented.
A great venue in a garden, very attractive and the girls were very attentive.
We will remember our delicious meals especially the haloumi avocado and poached eggs.

Wow, what an incredible breakfast! Everything was cooked to perfection and we sat out in the beautiful garden to eat and had a wonderful time.
The staff at Akarua were lovely as always and this is without a doubt our favourite place for breakfast :-)

Amazing breakfast! I had the waffles with caramelized banana, blueberry creme, honeycomb butter and bacon. HOLY HECK. Coffee was good too, as was the service. The setting is beautiful, in a blossom-filled garden tucked away off the main road. Highly rate.

This place is beautiful. The staff were friendly, great services. Me and my friend ordered waffle for breakfast, they are really good, if you’re a fan of waffle, then you have to try this! We had a really good time there, definitely will go back for more.

Akarua is a brilliant cute little spot. I took my partner for his birthday breakfast, what a treat! He had their big breakfast and I had salmon with spinach waffle. Salmon was unreal - the best salmon I've ever had. Big brekkie was top as well, yummy coffees. Our new favorite breakfast destination.

Good service, always a nice experience. Try the waffles - they are the best. The turmeric latte recipe has changed - wasn’t the same as last time? Bring back the old recipe it’s amazing.

We picked Akarua to get some "substance" into us before a day out in the Vino, It did not disappoint. The menu catered to the 4 of us nicely with an array of options for sweet and savory without being over the top. I personally had the house cured salmon with spinach waffle, which sounded odd but tasted delicious and an interesting twist in what I would have considered as a sweet breakfast (waffle) into something more savory. The cherry on top of the experience is the fact that our Vino crawl started off right after breakfast in the Akarua wine Cellar. You know its a going to be a great day when Food, Coffee and Wine can be consumed within a short amount of time together.

We've been to Akarua loads for lunch but this was the first time to breakfast, thanks to first table. So we went with the highest expectations and still came away very impressed. The salmon on spinach waffle was a standout but every dish was beautiful to look at and utterly delicious. Lovely cosy atmosphere inside and excellent service despite a packed dining room. Can't wait to go back!

Wow what a venue and experience! The ladies took amazing care of us at Brunch at Akarua and provided a bundle of laughs too. The food and wine was unbelievable. This was our dining highlight of our 4 day trip in Queenstown and i wish we had gone there again. i have already recommended Akarua to a bunch of people and cannot wait to go back! Amazing service and 10/10 food. They also make a stunning Espresso Martini!

Amazing food! Peaceful, quaint garden. Really beautiful to sit outside. Try go for nice weather. Still be good inside but so lovely outside. All plates were clean. Waffles, French toast are amazing if your feeling a sweeter breakfast but not sickly sweet. The parsley avo is incredible savoury option. Don’t think there would be a bad option there. Must go!

Fabulous breakfast. Friendly service and unbelievably good place for kids. It's a classy place to dine, with fabulous garden space for sunny days, and tucked a way at the back is a toy barn and sand pit. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast on a hot sunny morning and my infant son was equally happy enjoying the books and toys. Superb!

We went for breakfast. It was really good food in a beautiful setting. I had the haloumi with poached eggs and avocado and other half had the big breakfast. Big portions with good quality ingredients. Toddler had the kids waffles with fruit, I pinched a bit and it was delicious! Would definitely go again.

Akarua wines and Kitchen is one of the best places to eat around Queenstown. The food is perfection and the beverages fantastic. The menu is healthy, fresh and leaves you feeling very satisfied. The seating arrangements are really comfortable, indoor, outdoor, in the sun, or the shade for whatever mood you are in. For the kids the menu is top notch, my son loved his waffles and kids smoothie. They have a great play house filled with books and toys for the kids along with a big sandpit. It is the kind of place you can easily spend several hours enjoying good food and company!

Delicious as always. Lovely staff.

One thing I would advise is getting a new Bloody Mary cocktail recipe, was too sweet and needed real (fresh) tomato juice.

Thank you
