Full marks to the best dining experience we have had in Hawkes Bay.
The food was an absolute taste sensation and the presentation was exquisite.
I had the scollop entree and my partner the Farmers terraine. Absolutely beautiful! Certainly MKR.
The fillet steak was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Served with mushrooms and a lovely layered, scolloped potato with a delicious sauce.
The cheese cake was a total taste sensation with the small berries on the side.
Each course was a total taste sensation.
The atmosphere of the restaurant and the service could not be faulted.
For a delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere, the Village Kitchen can not be faulted.
Thank you for a lovely dining experience.

A very enjoyable evening, excellent food and service and great beach walk

- dined at Ahuriri Village Kitchen on

Great food, superb friendly staff. We ate the lamb rump and the fish and chips and it was superb. Our daughter had the chicken and chips from the kids menu and ate every last bit! Nice to see a kids menu with "real" food not deep fried morsels.
Will be back!!

We were greeted with a friendly smile and a great run through of the menu. From the second we walked in we felt the staff was attentive and thorough. Steaks were cooked beautifully and the seared scallops were to die for! This is one place to tell the friends and family about!

A beautiful meal for our first time out at the Ahuriri Village Kitchen. A warm and inviting atmosphere on arrival, friendly and welcoming staff and an excellent standard of food. The menu isn't huge - which I prefer - there is a good selection for most tastes. The food is well thought out and well presented. A good wine and beer offering featuring affordable but good quality local wines. A very pleasant dining experience and somewhere we would very happily dine again.

What a lovely experience. It was a dark and rainy night but the cosiness inside made us forget.

The service was friendly, welcoming and helpful without being over the top.

And the food was delicious. We started with the pizza bread followed by the lamb for me and pan fried fish and chips for my partner. The food was delicious and just the right amount. I was surprised to see my partner even eat the 'rabbit food' so there must have been something good in that dressing!

The meal was finished with a panna cotta which left us both feeling satisfied.

I would definitely go back to Ahuriri Village Kitchen and everybody else should too!

First time going to AVK and it was incredible! Delicious food and amazing service - will be back!

- dined at Ahuriri Village Kitchen on

Outstandingly helpful, friendly service. I would even say "solicitous", which left a deep impression. Extreme alcohol intolerance means I cannot ingest alcohol or foods cooked in or prepared with any alcohol and this obviously challenges most restaurants. AVK rose the challenge spectacularly, not only coming up with on the spot alternatives which were delicious in themselves, but by being super-attentive and careful to make sure I was safe - the chef coming out to check personally when one of the dishes ordered did contain wine (it was for my wife).

The food was superb, too. Seared scallops with the consistency of a perfect steak, and the medium-rare ribeye was perfectly pink. The dark chocolate ganache was a delightful sharing dessert, extreme chocolate indulgence that was a perfect sweet end to a sweet treat dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Came for dinner with hubby and a friend last night. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves. Great friendly environment and the food was next level. Soooo tasty and cooked perfectly. Decent portions and not overdone. The service was just top notch too. Compliments to the Chef and team. Definitely a place to visit. I recommend the seared scallops

- dined at Ahuriri Village Kitchen on

we had our wedding anniversary dinner here and had one of the best fine dining experiences in Napier to date.
The seared scallops were delicious that my own disappointment was that I didn't order more. 21 aged steak cooked to medium rare, cheesecake with berry salsa all fantastic. Wife had the terrine starter, pan fried bluenose fish main and dark ghana chocolate ganache which she couldn't stop raving about how yummy it was.So much that we had to return for breakfast the following morning to again thank them for such a wonderful total experience.
We will definitely return sooner than later.

This was a restaurant we had been looking forward to trying - and we were not disappointed. A lovely ambience, great service and fabulous food presented with pride. We're looking forward to returning with family and friends so we can try the dishes we missed out on!

- dined at Ahuriri Village Kitchen on

Fantastic! One of the best meals I have had in a long while and that's from an ex chef who is super picky!
Food was sublime, beautifully presented and the flavours were exquisite.
Service was understated but attentive and friendly.
Thank you for a wonderful evening, the 4 of us left very happy and satisfied.

Had a scallop starter and we had the rib eye and lamb rump as mains. The scallops were very likely the best we ever had. Took some real discipline not to order another plate. The 2 main courses accompanied with a couple glasses of syrah just completed a beautiful dinning experience for us. Will certainly recommend AVH to our friends and will make a point of going back when we are next in Napier.

We finally got around to trying out Ahuriri Village Kitchen for dinner last week through firsttable.co.nz and had a very enjoyable evening. We sat outside so we could enjoy the last of the day's heat and sunshine on another glorious Hawke's Bay evening. The service was great (thanks Karl). He was friendly, helpful and knew his stuff. The wine he suggested was very complementary to our meals and all of the courses came out at just the right time. Both us had a different starter, main and dessert, and were happy to share the odd bite with each other. Special mention goes out to the salmon starter and the cheesecake which was very light, fruity and delicious. It was a really enjoyable night and we will be sure to return again.

The AVK was the prefect balance of classy & comfy. There were hats and blankets available outside if the weather wasn’t what you prepared for.

Between the four of us dining we had the lamb, steak, and fish of the day, of which all we would highly recommend. The different flavours and ingredients used was interesting but all worked fabulously together.

I hope we can find another time in our schedules to enjoy this beautiful place again!

We had an awesome dining experience at Ahuriri Village Kitchen. The service was incredible- friendly, efficient and non obtrusive. The decor and ambience is perfect - there are tables inside and out with blankets and sun hats available for use. But the food - oh my goodness! The warmed olives were a perfect appetiser. Thai tofu starter was full of Thai flavours and the lamb, saffron mash and asparagus was cooked to perfection and a fantastic spring dish. I didn’t really need dessert but couldn’t go past the chocolate ganache with vanilla icecream- heaven on a plate! The food is presented so beautifully and all tasted amazing. We will definitely be back!

We were very impressed with Ahuriri Village Kitchen and really enjoyed and appreciated the delicious food and excellent service.. The restaurant has a special ambiance - cheerful and most relaxing.. The new menu provided many choices and chosen dishes were well presented and delicious! We returned today with friends to enjoy a coffee prior to a movie at the Globe. Couldn’t resist sharing some cabinet food.. The date scone was perfect and so too was the YoYo!! Thumbs up to the managers and team!

We had a lovely night here at the Ahuriri Village Kitchen, creamy Parsnip and Apple Soup, delicate Tofu & Asian entree a little different. The mains weren't huge but beautifully presented and tasty you needed the sides of the mushrooms with the parmesan and the tiny carrots they were yummy. The dessert we ordered both the Creme Brulee and the Chocolate Ganache we preferred the Chocolate Ganache better. Definitely keen to go again and try a few other different dishes. Attentive and knowledgeable staff fantastic.

I would imagine in summer it is a lovely venue. In the way of modern eateries it wasnt a "flashY' place.A lovely waitress, warm and welcoming...so a tip...and the food surprised me with it being a sou vied steak and vegetables, with the recommendation of a side of mushrooms. Divine mushrooms. My partner had the fish, which he was more than happy with. We will return

Oh my gosh! Who knew such amazing food was tucked away in Ahuriri!!!

It took a bit to get the food, but it was worth the wait!

The prices are a little bit high, as for the same price at other places, you’d also receive a salad and a slightly larger main.

We’ll go back again as it was just that flavourful!!!

Warm welcome, great explanation of the menu and specials. Drinks list has a small but good selection of local wines. Choc ganache dessert, lovely. Would return if in area.
