I enjoyed a beautiful dish of pan fried salmon with polenta chips and greens which were outstanding. Sugarhorse is a bar type venue with seating either inside or out. They have a large selection of drinks so there is something for everyone. I would highly recommend this establishment for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner.

It is easy to dismiss Sugarhorse initially because they are setup to be a bar as well as a restaurant (I dont like the bar atmosphere personally). But if you are willing to see past that you will meet staff that are full of personality and are eager to serve. Food where the portion sizes are generous and tasty. The toilets are clean. The staff member who served us were very nice to my kids especially as well despite them being a bit noisy. Parking was also easy the day we went. If you are into beer they seem to serve a vast variety.

It was a really good experience.
The bartender went out of her way to make my daughter a vanilla coke instead of just saying that they don't stock actual vanilla coke.

The food was great. I'd definitely go back again.

We sat outside, a lovely place to sit on a lovely Christchurch day. I had the Egg Florentine and my daughters had the chicken filo and the other had pizza and chips. The service was excellent and the witness was happy and relaxed. The food came out in excellent time and presentation and quality was great. Would highly recommend Sugar horse

Me and my daughter dined here for the first time. The lady that served us was fantastic, so lovely and looked after my daughter, even grabbed her some coloring to do. The food came out super quick and was hot and delicious. Definitely recommend Sugarhorse

Lunch at Sugarhorse yesterday was a good experience highlighted by the excellent service and the well cooked fish and chips I ordered. The pizzas ordered by my colleagues were not at that same high level with the bases being difficult to eat. Finished with coffee and slice which also reached the mark. Overall, I would recommend this place.

Good but not great. Pizzas are okay, chicken nibbles quite good. Somewhat sterile atmosphere, kind of a work drinks type vibe. Lovely friendly staff though.

Beautiful tasty and presented food. The best beef salad I have had for a while! And the Moroccan lamb Is definitely one to go back for! Service was lovely and very natural, my 5yr old was well looked after with colouring in and was given the time to chat to which was lovely.

Food was satisfactory. Both myself and my friend wanted ‘extras’ with our meals. I definitely appreciate that they were accommodating in this for us. It would be good if the prices of the extras were on the menu.
I had a mango smoothie. This just looked and tasted like a runny milkshake, unfortunately.
Both of our meals had poached eggs, which were overcooked. I had eggs Benedict and didn’t get much hollandaise, so with no runny egg it was rather dry (even with the added smashed avocado I requested). My toast was not buttered :( nor did any butter come with it. My friends smashed avocado was the same, and she asked for aioli, but even then needed to ask for more as the meal was quite dry.
Overall the food was still good (with our extras), but not great.
In terms of service, we were the only diners there at the time, so did receive quite prompt service. we asked a few questions about the menu items and there were a few discrepancies. My friend asked if there was anything with the smashed avocado. We were told it comes with poached eggs. But then I asked to add avocado to my eggs Benedict and was told it wasn’t sliced avocado, they just have the smashed avocado, which is mixed with sour cream etc.
It was pleasant.
