With dishes straight from Nana Woodley's recipe book, Woodley's Restaurant serves the very best of home cooking that has been passed down generations and generations.
A pure-white tavern on the outside, a cosy eatery on the inside. Their dining area is rustic and warm with high wooden ceilings and a gas fire to keep you cosy. If it's a fine evening, why not enjoy Nana Woodley's food in the newly landscaped beer garden, the front terrace with views to the mountains or the fully covered and heated dining area. There are plenty of outdoor dining areas to choose from at Woodley's.
Home comforts begin with their starters that include arancini balls, pork and cabbage dumplings and seafood chowder. The mains will hit every sweet spot. There are the oh-so-British bangers and mash, house-made pie with mash and mushy peas (another British staple) and the Woodley's burger with beef schnitzel and swiss cheese.
For something you wouldn't necessarily make at home, there's a cider roasted pork belly with kumara mash, seared salmon with rosti and morocco lamb medallions with a crunchy potato gratin. Even the beverages are kept close to home, with local wines and craft beers given the spotlight. After all, home is where the heart is.
