Going nuts for nutmeg is 3 Nutmegs, an Indian eatery with a meaningful purpose!

Their 'by nature, for nature' ethos means they make every effort to minimise their carbon footprint. Their methods include using NZ-made pottery and utensils to reduce their plastic consumption and they'll be going 100% electric by 2021! But what's in it for you? How about food sourced from reliable, organic suppliers that's tastier and infinitely more nutritious? It's this dedication that keeps diners coming back for more!

Stepping inside this eatery is like being welcomed into a family home, where community and good food bind people together. Begin your culinary adventure with some crispy poppadoms, perfect for dipping in their organic tomato and basil rassa. Dance with fire and risk spoiling your appetite with the potatoes with pomegranate and fried flat puffs that come with mint yoghurt. It's a risk worth taking, trust us.

Then a world of curries await! Vegetarians enjoy curries for days with the creamy black lentils, green peas with cottage cheese and the classic shahi paneer. Carnivores fear not, there are chicken and lamb vindaloos, butter chicken and begali fish to satiate the meat feast you're craving. And if it's a school night, round off with a spicy chai latte - perfect for a rainy day, which, in Auckland, isn't hard to come by!

Great food and great atmosphere. My group of 4 all had a good time and we all enjoyed our meals. Would be good if they had a proper drinks menu as would encourage us to possibly buy a drink and the food took a little long, but the great taste in food made up for that! Overall awesome experience, would try again.

3Nutmeg has recently opened in the main street of Parnell. It is relatively small, however it’s modern decor and the limited number of tables meant we didn't feel crowded even though it was full. The menu is shorter than the usual menu found in Indian restaurants, There was a good range of dishes offered and my wife and I shared Masala lamb bites to start which came with a heavenly sauce . Our main dishes were a daal makhni and a ‘slowly cooked’ dum chicken curry which promised to be like “Mum's recipe." Both dishes were excellent with each having a distinctive taste. The size of the meal was just right for the two of us. However I still had appetite to try the sweet rice pudding, one of only 2 items on the dessert menu. This dessert was smooth with just the right amount of sweetness. All-in-all we left feeling very satisfied with 3 Nutmeg and made a promise to ourselves to return before too long.

Excellent food and service at 3 Nutmegs. The owner who served us is a delightful chap and made very helpful recommendations for what to eat. The vegetable Pakora is a must try dish.

So glad this Indian restaurant has opened a quick walk from my flat, the food was really nice, very authentic and full of flavour! Great to have a refreshing take on Indian food!
Highly recommend the Peri Peri tandoori chicken and the Korma.

An indian eatery like no other that we've been to. Great service, beautiful food. The food is as tasteful as the decor of this cozy eatery. All tables were full so making a reservation is best.

tasty food and good service. No sound insulation so if you have a noisy table it can be a hard to hear :p and personally I didn't like the texture of the plates.. but you can't please everyone!
importantly, the food is delicious!

First time using First Table and visiting 3 Nutmegs. Had a pleasant experience. My 6year old son enjoys a sweet butter chicken and he got just that. Mrs and I Cant remember what we ordered but only before it was so long ago that we went there (2 days) but I think it was a Chicken Tikka which I do remember it being very tasty! and the Spice level was just right too! I would definitely go back. Plus, they're fully halal too!
