This sports bar feels like a café at the backyard. The food served is of a much higher quality and value than one would have imagined from the cafe's simple, open and bar ambiance! Once you have tried the food, you will learn a new meaning to "never judge a book/café by its cover/ambiance"! The service personnel are friendly too! My family heartily recommends it!

Howick has needed a gathering place like Lucky's for a long time. Yes, there are bars and a pub but Lucky's is a wee bit different. The owners run it and they run it like your home from home. They are super people and very inclusive. This could be your home away from home!! Food is well priced. My friend had the beef burger and loved it. I had the steak sandwich which was nice but meat a tad dry so I recommend, when ordering, express your preference for well done, medium or rare. Great waffle fries and salad come with the sandwich . Lovelyservice, welcoming and inclusive. We will be back.

Awesome nice quiet place, the food was really worth the price and delicious. The service was really great 10/10 friendly staff! Big screen to watch sports, nice music not played too loud like other places iv been to. Lots of things to entertain, pool tables, darts, fuse ball and gaming room. Really enjoyed our night here, well worth it. Will go back for sure!

We had a great time with the pool table & darts. Ordered the sirloin steak, chicken breast & the baguette. The food was delicious, the hosts extremely friendly & the venue very informal. Exactly our style !

What a great addition to Howick. A relaxed casual evening out. The food had an American taste profile but was a step above the norm. We started with the crispy chicken and the meatballs. The chicken was crispy and well flavoured and the meatballs moist, delicious and left you wanting more! The chicken burger was stacked and the accompanying waffle fries crispy and delicious. The Ceaser Salad was fresh and well balanced. The husband enjoyed his Philly Sandwich. Didn't leave a crumb on his plate.

The vibe is casual, laid back but clean and bright. While their little pokie area was yet to open we had fun with a couple of games of darts on the new electronic dart machines. A couple of pool tables and a gigantic TV screen for sports games will be a bonus in rugby season.

If you're after a relaxed, casual evening with great food pop into Lucky's.

Great place, works for fun with the family or a beer after work with mates. Decor unusual but customer services outweighs that, great service, food was yum.

This was our first time dining at Lucky's. A new spot in Howick next to the Liquor store in Elliot Street. It was completely empty when we arrived. It was clean and bright. There was a large TV screen playing music videos which was cool. I expect it will be a great spot to watch a rugby game. There were lots of activities! Two pool tables and a foosball table. I can see the kids enjoying a dinner here. We approached the bar and ordered drinks. We were told we could take our choice of table and were given menus. We were served promptly and ordered a cheesy garlic bread while we read the rest of the menu. There was really something for everyone. I really liked the menu and found it hard to choose. The garlic bread was served quickly and we placed our food order. The garlic bread was sooo good! 4 decent sized pieces served with homemade aioli. Delicious. Hubby ordered the beef burger w/ waffle fries and added an egg. I ordered the grilled buttermilk chicken burger w/ waffle fries. The food arrived quickly and we were offered more drinks. Hubby was happy with his beef burger but did not enjoy the large amount of beetroot relish. My chicken burger was great, the chicken had a really nice chargrilled flavour and was cooked nicely. I was also given a large amount of some kind of fruit chutney on my burger which I didn't eat. We both agreed the waffle fries were a standout. Crisp and delicious and they were served with more of that winning homemade aioli. It looks like Lucky's have a lot of events like quiz nights and karaoke which may be fun to check out. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We will likely return.

Loved our new years eve dinner here. Steak was cooked perfectly rare as preferred with a variety of other dishes on offer at a reasonable price. Service was amazing with the waiter always checking in and taking drink orders. Will definitely dine there again.

Good sized portions and very tasty. A bit of a wait on the mains however the manager/ owner came over and apologised for the wait and offered us fries on the house In the meantime which was nice. Buttermilk chicken was a standout. Possibly not suitable for families in the evening as there were lot of rowdy, intoxicated people in the bar who were using foul language which put us off a bit so be mindful if with young children. All in all it was good food and we left feeling content and satisfied :)
