Senior Marketing Executive (Parental Leave Cover)

About the opportunity 

Step into a pivotal marketing role at a time of exciting growth for First Table. We’re on the lookout for a savvy and strategic marketer to lead and execute core marketing activity while our Senior Marketing Executive is on parental leave. This is a 7-month fixed-term opportunity based in our Queenstown head office (or remotely from Auckland for the right person).

You’ll play a hands-on role in delivering campaigns across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK, supported by a talented offshore team and connected to our wider global marketing function. While this is a fixed-term opportunity, we’re in growth mode, longer-term opportunities may lie ahead with our success.

About the role

You’ll join a tight-knit, high-performing team where creativity, execution, and impact go hand in hand. This is a rare chance to lead, contribute, and grow — all while shaping how First Table shows up across three dynamic markets.

  • Leadership: Inspire and lead our offshore marketing support team, ensuring timely and efficient execution of all business-as-usual activities aligned with First Table’s brand standards.

  • Strategy execution: Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop and execute marketing strategies for New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.

  • Partnership development: Collaborate directly with our restaurant partners, commercial team and marketing teams to identify and action partnership opportunities — from B2B restaurant activations to promotional tie-ins that help us reach new diners and drive growth.

  • Brand advocacy: Build relationships with brand advocates and media,to promote the First Table story through PR and collaborations.

  • Content creation: Write compelling, story-driven copy for digital channels, including email marketing, websites, social media, paid media, giveaways, blogs, and PR.

  • Campaign innovation: Support A/B testing for copy and campaign assets with the marketing and product teams to improve results.

  • Global collaboration: Work closely with our UK and Philippines-based marketing team to ensure cohesive global campaigns. While this role is typically 9–5 NZT, occasional flexibility may be required for collaboration across time zones.

  • Audience growth: Assist in establishing partnerships to engage new audience segments while maintaining alignment with First Table’s brand guidelines and tone of voice.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience in a similar marketing, copywriting, or B2B/B2C role

  • Experience leading a team and/or workflows (preferred) 

  • A team-focused approach with the proven ability to provide constructive feedback

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, or a related field (preferred)

  • Excellent copywriting skills with an eye for detail and storytelling 

  • Ability to adapt and solve complex problems in innovative ways 

  • Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple campaigns whilst meeting tight deadlines

  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, evolving work environment

  • The ability to inspire those around you and keep an upbeat team culture 

  • Familiarity with CMS (such as Silverstripe) and analytics tools is a bonus
